Think your idea is Clean Tech? Clean Tech products or services:

  • Reduce the use of energy, materials, or water consumption
  • Explore different energy sources or ways to distribute energy
  • Make natural resource extraction more environmentally friendly/minimize the impact.
  • Focus on reducing water and pollution.

But you don’t just have to think Clean Tech to join – as with past Ramp Up Weekends – all ideas and all ages are welcome! And, you don’t need to have an idea for a product or service to be a part of this event, you can come and be part of an existing team.

Ramp Up Weekend is about building deep relationships among the attendees, learning, and taking the first steps toward entrepreneurship – in Manitoba!

WHAT HAPPENS IN 55 HOURS?

DAY 1 • FRIDAY, MARCH 29

Attendees will have 60 seconds to pitch their idea. After each idea has been pitched, everyone will vote for their top three. With the most interesting ideas gaining traction, teams begin to form into cross-functional groups including design, development, business and more. The remainder of Friday evening is spent brainstorming and planning for building a minimum viable product.

DAY 2 • SATURDAY, MARCH 30

Logos and websites are created, product mocked up and built, customer validation – it’s a day of building. Mentors move from team to team, asking tough questions and helping teams survive the ‘pivots’ ahead.

DAY 3 • SUNDAY, MARCH 31

This day will begin with continued building and another round of mentorship. ‘Pitch Prep’ sessions will be available for teams looking to scrub their pitches. After dinner, it’s time to pitch to the judges. Teams will have three minutes to pitch and three minutes of Q & A. After the awards are handed out and the teams catch their breath, we hope to see these startups move on and launch right here in Winnipeg!
