WeTech Loan program seeks to boost women-led startups

Manitoba has the lowest percentage of female tech startup founders in Canada, and a new loan program is stepping in to help change that.


To help close this gap, North Forge has partnered with WeMB (formerly the Manitoba Women’s Enterprise Centre) to launch WeTech Loans. The goal? To empower more women in Manitoba to start and grow tech companies.


This initiative was sparked by research from North Forge CEO Joelle Foster, who uncovered that Manitoba lags behind every other province in the percentage of female tech founders.
