PolySense Solutions is transforming the way manufacturers monitor critical equipment with proprietary sensors and a web-based dashboard that delivers real-time status updates and predictive alerts, helping customers reduce costly downtime before it happens.

Led by Founder and CEO Matthew Gale, PolySense has developed monitoring devices specifically tailored to high-value machines like the EOS M290, a metal 3D printer widely used in aerospace and medical manufacturing. In 2019, the company installed four units at one of Canada’s largest metal additive manufacturing facilities, marking a significant milestone in their growth.

From Beta to Business

“The testing is going great, and the team really sees the value in our product,” said Gale during the company’s initial rollout. “We hope to begin sales of this device in the next month or two.”

That vision has since expanded into broader predictive monitoring across various manufacturing and testing environments—especially where machines are often left running unattended.

PolySense Solutions now targets equipment commonly used in sectors like aerospace, automotive, and healthtech, all of which rely on continuous uptime to meet demanding production standards.

The North Forge Advantage

As a member of the North Forge Founders Program, Gale has leaned heavily on the ecosystem’s business mentorship and early-stage support.

“The Startup Program helped me by giving me access to some great business mentors,” said Gale. “These mentors have given me valuable advice and helped steer me in the right direction.”

That guidance has been critical as PolySense refines its go-to-market strategy, customer acquisition approach, and scaling operations.

North Forge also provided access to strategic networking, exposure to potential clients, and prototype support, all key factors in PolySense’s early traction and long-term plans.

Looking Ahead

PolySense Solutions is now focused on expanding its technology into other types of manufacturing and testing equipment that require continuous monitoring. The goal: become the industry standard for predictive maintenance and real-time alerting in unattended environments.
