Four closed loading dock doors.

When Daniel Santos left his job as a freight broker, he walked straight into building his next venture: Evotrux, a digital freight logistics platform. After more than 15 years in the transportation industry, Santos had seen how inefficient the logistics process could be—especially when finding carriers for a single shipment could require contacting more than ten people. In some cases, communication still relied on fax machines.

“As someone who likes to fix things, I figured there had to be a better way,” said Santos.

That “better way” became Evotrux, a digital freight logistics platform designed to modernize the freight industry. Santos describes it as a mix between a dating app and an auction site—connecting shippers with available carriers and enabling real-time bidding for jobs.

Leveling the Playing Field

Evotrux uses existing technology to bring much-needed efficiency and transparency to logistics. The platform allows shippers to find the best match for their loads, and carriers to view and bid on available jobs. For high-demand loads, the bidding feature ensures competitive pricing.

One of the most powerful features of Evotrux is its real-time rate transparency.

“Many companies don’t know the going rate for a load, which leaves them vulnerable,” said Santos. “Evotrux gives them pricing clarity and peace of mind.”

The platform also allows carriers to build public profiles and earn client ratings, giving them the chance to grow based on quality—not just low pricing.

Brokers benefit as well. Rather than being replaced, Evotrux equips them with the same real-time market data, allowing them to better serve clients who don’t have the capacity to manage their shipping needs in-house.

Environmental and Economic Impact

With an estimated 2.5 million trucks operating across Canada and the U.S., and about 30 percent running empty at any given time, Evotrux also has environmental benefits.

“Filling those empty miles improves the carrier’s bottom line and helps reduce the industry’s carbon footprint,” said Santos.

Powered by North Forge

Santos credits much of his early success to North Forge’s mentorship and resources. As a founder without technical co-founders or investors, he needed a community that could provide strategic support without demanding equity.

“North Forge gave me access to resources I never would’ve had on my own,” he said. “In most places, getting this kind of help would mean giving up a piece of your company. At North Forge, they’re invested in your success because they believe in your business.”

With the backend system for Evotrux completed, beta testing began with industry partners. Santos’s goal? To bring freight logistics into the modern age and create equal opportunities for everyone in the industry.
