Vivian Escorsin

Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Bio

Vivian Escorsin is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs, encouraging creativity, connecting people, and building communities. She does that as a certified coach, facilitator, mentor, advisor, entrepreneur, and intrapreneur.

With 10+ years of experience with entrepreneurs, startups, and businesses in Brazil, New Zealand, and Canada and 10+ years in the education industry, her approach is applied to practical problem-solving and testing ideas.

Her entrepreneurial journey began in 2010 when she co-founded a not-for-profit organization in Brazil. In running the organization, she saw the need to balance social impact and financial sustainability, so she dedicated her time to learning, practicing, and teaching social entrepreneurship. In this field, she participated in business idea competitions with the Curitiba Chamber of Commerce (2nd place), Artemisia, and Yunus Social Business (2nd place), and mentored small business owners at Aliança Empreendedora.

In 2016, she moved to New Zealand, where she deepened her studies in entrepreneurship and ran meetups, events, workshops, courses, and mentorship on the topic. She participated in the Nelson Startup Weekend (2nd place) and the Social Enterprise World Forum in Christchurch and was part of the organization team for the SEWF Tour - Nelson and the TEDx Wellington in Whakatu.

Back in Brazil, she devoted her time to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, tech startups, innovative businesses, and innovation ecosystems at Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service), a private entity that promotes the competitiveness and sustainable development of micro and small businesses in Brazil.

In December 2021, she moved to Calgary, Canada, and continued supporting entrepreneurs’ paths. Since then, she has worked with 300+ entrepreneurs, with a special focus on international students, immigrant women, and international founders.

As a multipassionate and lifelong learner, she is always learning something new and sharing her discoveries. In her free time, you can find her trying hot chocolates in local coffee shops, experimenting with arts and culture, and walking and playing with her dogs.
