TEDxWinnipeg 2025 was a vibrant celebration of bold thinking, fresh perspectives, and the kind of energy that fuels real-world change. With this year’s theme, Ideas in Action, the event delivered inspiring talks, community connection, and moments that truly reflected the spirit of innovation we champion at North Forge. As a proud sponsor, we were right there alongside the dreamers, doers, and change-makers.

Our very own Dana Driedger, Director of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives, took to the TEDx stage with a deeply personal talk titled Two Eyes Seeing, which explored the restoration of vision colonization tried to erase. Dana’s words reminded the audience of the power of reclaiming perspectives and the importance of holding space for voices that challenge and expand the way we see the world.
Another standout moment came from Chioma Onyekpere, whose talk Biased AI Is Already Deciding Your Future pulled back the curtain on how narrow training datasets can influence decision-making in technology. As a hub deeply rooted in innovation, North Forge understands the urgency of inclusive and intentional tech development — and Chioma’s insights resonated with our mission to foster thoughtful, impactful innovation.

We also brought a bit of North Forge energy to the event with our Innovation Lounge experience. This interactive space invited attendees to share their "next big idea" on a wall full of sticky notes — an informal but powerful reminder that great ideas can come from anywhere, and that innovation often starts with a single spark.
With a vibrant turnout and a strong sense of community throughout the day,
TEDxWinnipeg reminded us why these spaces matter. They fuel curiosity, ignite collaboration, and put ideas into motion — all things we value deeply at North Forge.
We're proud to have been part of this incredible event and are excited to keep the momentum going as we continue to support the bold thinkers and builders shaping our future.
