This year’s Pow Wow Pitch at the Manito Ahbee Festival brought together a powerful mix of culture, community, and entrepreneurship, and North Forge was proud to be part of it.
Pow Wow Pitch provides a platform for Indigenous entrepreneurs to share their stories, pitch their ideas, and access resources to grow their businesses. It’s not just a competition—it’s a celebration of innovation rooted in identity, resilience, and connection.
One of the highlights this year was presenting the North Forge Award to Niña Waṡte Events, an Indigenous women-owned business based in Winnipeg. Specializing in large, interactive game rentals for events, Niña Waṡte Events creates experiences that bring people together and reflect their Dakota and Ojibway heritage. Their work combines fun, storytelling, and culture, building community through play.
Along with receiving a 1-year full membership to our Fabrication Lab, Niña Waṡte Events also won the top prize at Pow Wow Pitch. We’re thrilled to support them as they continue to grow and inspire.
At North Forge, we believe in access to tools, spaces, and networks that help founders thrive. This partnership with Pow Wow Pitch is one way we continue to support Indigenous-led innovation in Manitoba.
Congratulations again to Niña Waṡte Events and to every entrepreneur who stepped up and shared their vision. We see you—and we’re cheering you on.
