North Forge is proud to welcome our new Director of Programming, Elaine Greer.
Elaine has dedicated the past 20 years of her career to supporting the growth of Manitoba’s economy by providing her expertise in business, community and economic development practices. During the span of her career, she has helped over 500 early-stage startups and midsized companies and assisted over 15 community groups in accessing $20 million in project funding and business growth capital. Most recently, she spearheaded the launch of the BDC Technology Industry Program in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Elaine was involved in numerous development initiatives in various capacities, including the Province of Manitoba Rural Economic Development Strategy, the Provincial Excess Moisture Business Restoration project and the Central Plains regional business skill development strategy – to name a few.
In her free time, it is not unusual to find her coaching and mentoring young adults on their career paths or entrepreneurial endeavors. She dedicates her time and experience to supporting initiatives such as Ramp Up weekends and sitting on judging panels for business pitch competitions. She also sits on the board for Level IT Up.
Elaine hit the ground running at North Forge, currently working with the programs team, as well as North Forge CEO, Joelle Foster, on the development and execution of the new Founder Program that is expected to launch later this year.
“Most people that know me know that I am all about the entrepreneurs,” says Greer, “It’s my happy place, and I believe my purpose in life is to work with entrepreneurs and founders to achieve their dreams. I most look forward to working with all our great North Forge community entrepreneurs.”
